FAQs

How do I use Nutritter?

Here's a short video intro on the basics: How to Nutritter

The best way to use Nutritter is with your Twitter account.
After you join (be sure to give your twitter username when you join), you can tweet a description of what you're eating separated by commas and include the nutritter alpha hash-tag (#nutritteralpha) or you can Direct Message (DM) @nutritter with your meals for privacy. DM's to @nutritter do not need to include the #nutritteralpha hash-tag. Depending on how you set up your notifications, you'll get a summary of your nutrition sent to you!

You might also want to just use the nutritter website. Enter what you're eating on your Home page. You can edit food, add and subtract ingredients and more. You might want to share your food-log with some friends. Visit the Community page to browse and connect with other alpha users or if you know their username, just visit their profile at nutritter.com/username. After you make a few friends, you'll be able to view your food-log combined with theirs, eat their recipes with one click, and soon, exchange comments.

The rest is simple. We keep track of your daily nutrient totals so you can check them whenever you'd like. We'll be adding new features all the time with your feedback. Come share a suggestion and shape new features like Nutritter Groups, measurement tracker, one-on-one nutrition consulting, and connecting with your other web profiles.

How can I send updates to my food log?

Right now, you can tweet them with the #nutritteralpha hash-tag, you can enter them in the 'What are you eating?' box on your Home page, you can e-mail them to eat@nutritter.com from your registered e-mail address, or you can visit your mobile settings and register your mobile phone by sending in a code to mobile at nutritter dot com.

Always enter food separated by commas. In the future, we will have applications for Facebook, the iPhone, and other mobile phones as well as a mobile site and full SMS support. Help us decide what's next by lending some feedback.

How can I find my friends on Nutritter?

The community on Nutritter is currently under development. Each user has a page at nutritter.com/username visible only to logged-in users where their recipes, ingredients, and friends are listed. You can also visit the Community page where all alpha members are listed. We will be adding lots of ways to find and invite your friends from e-mail or other social networks as we get closer to releasing Nutritter to the public. As always, we'd love you to share your feedback on what you want to see next for Nutritter.

Can anyone see what I'm eating?

No. Your food log on Nutritter is by default, private. The individual recipes and ingredients on your Profile tab however, are made available to the community so that everyone can benefit from updates to the Nutritter database.

After you become friends with someone on Nutritter however, you can then see each other's food-logs. In the future, Nutritter will be adding more community features like Nutritter Groups, commenting, different privacy settings, and connecting your Nutritter account with your other social networks. If you're interested in sharing feedback on these community features, feel free to start a topic on our feedback page.

How much does Nutritter cost?

During our alpha, Nutritter is free to use. Our current users are giving invaluable feedback on the service and participating in tuning it for release later in 2009.

I'm from a brand or restaurant and want to talk about sharing or updating our Nutrition Facts on Nutritter.
